Progress Report

Form the Dashboard, the Submitted Items section there is a tab for Administrative Changes. In this tab you will see a line item for the Administrative Change you submitted.

Where do I begin?

  1. Log into O.R.C.A.v2
  2. Dashboard: Locate section, Your Protocols.

  1. Click on the Protocol # link.
  2. You will be taken to the Protocol Info page.

  3. From the Summary section, click the Action button.
  4. Click Progress Report.

 


 

 

Begin your Progress Report

Approval Type Respond to the first question "What do you want to do with this protocol?" and select an option from the drop down. The next series of yes/no questions will be based on your drop down selection for Inactivate or Continue Approval. Once you respond to the first group of Yes/No Questions, the following pages are 

    1. Inactivate Approval will display the same Yes/No questions for the drop down responses listed below.
      The project was never started - no animals were used
      The project started but will not be completed - no animals were used (no animals active)
      The project is complete - no further use of animals is needed (no further activities involving animals; close the protocol)
    2. Inactivation Checkpoint will display questions to consider regarding protocol related activities.

    3. Continue Approval will display the same Yes/No question for the drop down responses listed below 
      The project is on-going
      The project was inactive - activate it so use of animals can continue (currently inactive with plans to use animals in future)
      The project did not start - activate it so animal use can begin (anticipate starting the project this year)

Adverse Events

  • Select Yes - if you did have problems/unexpected adverse events. Describe any unexpected events or problem that occurred since the last review. 
    • Complete the text field, Circumstances and Resolution
    • Click Save & Continue when you have completed your response
  • Select No- if you do not have any unexpected adverse events, click no and continue.
    • Click Save & Continue when you have completed your response

 

Progress Report

  • Follow the instructions, and provide a summary of the research activities since the last review. Include your specific aims and results you have obtained since the last review. Include references to any publications that have resulted from the protocol. 

  • Click Save & Continue when you have completed your response.

Animal Numbers

  1. Total Approved  cumulated total for this protocol, approved by the IACUC. 
  2. Total Added to Date  cumulated number added to this protocol (e.g. purchased, transferred, from a breeding colony)
  3. Number Added This Period the number purchased since your last report is displayed here..
    1. if this number is incorrect, explain why and provide the correct number in the available text field.
       

  4. Only Regulated Species -  USDA / AAALAC Reporting
      1. The cumulated studied total for this protocol by USDA category will show the number of approved animals in the approved pain category for the protocol
      2. How many animals were studied this period enter the appropriate number.
       
  5. Click Save 

  6. Click Save & Continue 


Review & Submit
 
  1. The last page is the Overview. You may review all sections of the progress report here.
  2. If edits are needed, click the appropriate page, make edits and click the save button. .

  3. Once the Progress Report is complete, click the Submit  button.


What's next?

After a progress report is submitted, the PI will be redirected to the Administrative Changes page where they will find the list of Study Personnel, Co-PI, Grant information and the Occupational Health and Safety area. Here the PI can review, edit,any of the Administrative Changes sections and submit.

If a Delegate submits a progress report, an email notification will go to the PI and Co-PI to submit to the IACP Office. The Delegate will also be redirected to the Administrative Changes page.

Status

Once the Progress Report is submitted to the IACP office, the Dashboard and Protocol History will provide information on the status of the Progress Report.

Submitted Items

From the Dashboard, the Submitted Items section includes a tab for Progress Reports. In this tab you will see a line item for the Progress Report you submitted.

History

To access the protocol's history:

  1. Navigate to your Dashboard
  2. Locate the Your Protocols section
  3. Locate your protocol and click the protocol number hyperlink 
  4. You are now at the IACUC Protocol Information page


  5. Click the Protocol History button. A list of transactions for the protocol will display. Once the administrative changes are processed, the history will display the decision.
